Bodycote, a provider of thermal processing services, released its interim results for the six months ending June 30, 2024. The report outlines the companys financial performance, key achievements, and outlook. Despite a challenging market backdrop, Bodycote delivered a good overall performance in the first half, with organic topline growth excluding surcharges and strong margin progression. The companys revenue was £399.0 million, a 5.0% decrease year-on-year, due to lower surcharges and foreign exchange headwinds. However, excluding surcharges, organic revenue growth was 1.5%. Headline operating profit increased by 6.4% to £66.8 million, and the company achieved a further improvement in headline operating margin, reaching 16.7%. The companys Specialist Technologies division continued to outperform, with organic revenue growth of 7.7% excluding surcharges. The Aerospace & Defence division also saw significant margin improvement. Bodycote acquired Lake City Heat Treating in January 2024, strengthening its network and service offering in the medical market. The companys outlook for the full year remains unchanged, expecting organic revenue growth excluding surcharges and year-over-year margin progression.
