**Summary**
TotalEnergies has initiated the construction of the final two major projects under the Gas Growth Integrated Project (GGIP) in Iraq: the full field development of the Ratawi oil field and the Common Seawater Supply Project (CSSP). These projects mark the execution phase of all four components of the GGIP, which include natural gas, solar, oil, and water initiatives. The Ratawi field development will increase oil production to 210,000 barrels per day (bpd) by 2028, with no routine flaring, while the CSSP will supply 5 million barrels of treated seawater daily to southern Iraqi oil fields, preserving freshwater resources and freeing up 250,000 cubic meters of freshwater daily for agriculture. The GGIP, a multi-energy strategy project, aims to enhance Iraq’s energy independence, improve electricity supply, and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. With 2,700 workers already on-site (2,000 of whom are Iraqi), the project is expected to employ up to 7,000 Iraqi nationals during peak construction. TotalEnergies, alongside partners Basra Oil Company and QatarEnergy, reaffirmed its commitment to Iraq’s sustainable development, with the first phase of associated gas, oil, and solar projects set to begin operations by early 2026.
